Marines Play to the Crowd

The Albany Marine Band stopped by the plaza in front of St. Louis County Courthouse to perform patriotic songs for the lunch crowd.

The Albany Marine Band brought its patriotic show to Clayton Thursday afternoon, entertaining lunch-goers outside the .

The program, titled "Here We Stand," ran the gamut from "The Star Bangled Banner" to "God Bless America." 

The 48-member band, which has been playing across St. Louis for Marine Week, is based out of the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, GA and was named the FY2010 Marine Corps Band of the Year in January. It is joining in the events of Marine Week as the city and county take part in celebrating the Corps, as well as learn about the new and exciting ways the Corps serves the country today.

A revolving crowd that consistently stayed around 50 watched the band as it played between 11 A.M. and noon.
