May Brings Plenty of Activity at Colonial MarketPlace
Original Pancake House is open; Cini opens this coming week and Ivy Hill Boutique holds an official opening tonight.
The Colonial MarketPlace in Ladue and Clayton is crazy busy.
While workers are feverishly getting construction done, other places are βopen for businessβ or will do so, this coming week or next.
Cini Italian Chow has a store front taking employment applications. While fixtures are in place, construction on Cini will come down to the wire for a May 7 launch.

Β βThis is our second location. We are on South Grand in the flats area. Think of us as a Chipolte but we are Italian, not Mexican,β said David Clark, their general manager.
The Original Pancake House is swarming with customers, sampling the apple and Dutch pancakes while sipping fresh orange juice from their $10,000 Zumex processor, purchased directly from Denmark.Β

Other businesses include:
- Dominic Michael hair stylists have been open for two weeks. They are cutting hair for both men and women. They closed their Clayton location, moving to Ladue. Their other location is at 17057 Baxter Rd. in Chesterfield.
- Blown Away Dry Bar is snowed under with busy ladies on the go. They are trying to keep up with prom season; Mothers Day and graduations all coming up.Β
- Ivy Hill Boutique is βBursting with Excitement.β Thatβs the message on the colorful post card, announcing the official celebration of their grand opening held Friday, May 3.
Others are nearing their construction deadline. Clarkson Eyecare will open May 6.
Already a mannequin is on display, but thereβs plenty of work to be done in Dimvaloo, the line of active Australian sportswear. Extra Virgin Olive Oil will open soon, as will Martaβs Boutique, moving over from the Clay Price Center.
The St.Louis Womenβs Exchange is scheduled to open in early June. Frill is still under construction too.
Kinkos, a long-time regular, has endured through all the dust and dirt and paving.
βLife is good. It has not been bad at all,β said assistant manager Pedro Messan. βEveryone here has been very nice to us,β said the Kinkosβ supervisor.
