Police Detail December Accidents in Richmond Heights

The Richmond Heights Police Department recently posted three documents to its Web site that detail traffic accidents that happened in the city in December 2012.

One document ranks the number of accidents by location; another identifies the time of day and day of the week on which accidents happened; and the final file describes the severity of each accident.

Here are 10 numbers to know from the report:

• 0 — Fatal accidents in Richmond Heights in December 2012

• 102 — Total accidents to which the department responded

• 26 — Injuries that resulted from accidents

• $2.281 million — Estimated losses, in dollars, caused by lost productivity and expenses resulting from accidents in the city

• 5.88 — Percentage of accidents that happened on a Sunday, the lowest-accident day of the week

• 20.59 — Percentage of accidents that happened on a Monday, the highest-accident day of the week

• 0 — Percentage of accidents that happened between 2 and 2:59 a.m., 4 and 4:59 a.m., 5 and 5:59 a.m., 6 and 6:59 a.m. and 10 p.m. and 11:59 p.m., the lowest-accident times of day

• 12.75 — Percentage of accidents that happened between 4 and 5:59 p.m., the highest-accident time of day

• 35 — Total number of accidents recorded by Richmond Heights police for Highway 40. It had the highest volume of accidents out of any road documented by the police.

• 11 — Total number of accidents recorded for Brentwood Road, the second-highest volume of accidents as reported by location
