St. Louis Dental Center now has a dentist specializing in pediatrics

Dr. Avanija Reddy is specialty care unit director in pediatric dentistry

A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH) and the St. Louis Dental Education and Oral Health Center (St. Louis Dental Center) are pleased to welcome Dr. Avanija Reddy as the full-time specialty care unit director in pediatric dentistry. The announcement was made by Dwight McLeod, DDS, MS, dean, ATSU-MOSDOH.

Previously, she served as associate pediatric dentist at Zoo Crew Pediatric Dentistry in Hermitage, Tennessee. Dr. Reddy is fluent in Spanish, as well as Hindi and Telugu, has practiced pediatric dentistry since 2014, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Reddy obtained a bachelor of science degree (biology/psychology with a minor in Spanish) from Birmingham Southern College; a doctor of dental medicine/masters in public health with dental emphasis from Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health; and a degree in pediatric dentistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

A member of numerous professional dental organizations, Dr. Reddy has been involved with research on the impact of pH levels in consumer beverages on dental erosion. She has found time for community endeavors such as promoting mouth guards for children’s school sports, providing oral health screenings and instruction for Special Olympic athletes and for a homeless program, and oral cancer screenings for a cancer walk.

“We are extremely excited to have Dr. Reddy as a member of our team at 1500 Park Avenue,” adds Dean McLeod. “We know she will be a great contributor in providing high quality services to the many families we serve.”
