JANUARY 3, 2018, St. Louis Missouri…For free loans of home health equipment – from manual and electric wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, crutches, canes, hospital beds, lift chairs and more – visit the new website of The St. Louis Health Equipment Lending Program (St. Louis HELP) at https://www.stlhelp.org.
St. Louis HELP’s new website explains how the nonprofit organization provides free loans of home health devices to anyone recovering from accidents, illness and surgery, including children, senior citizens and people who are disabled.
The not-for-profit organization founded in 2008 serves more than 6,000 people a year in metro St. Louis with free loans of home medical equipment that many people desperately need.

Laura Cannon-Singer, founder and executive director, said, “We are a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that assists people in all walks of life who need home health equipment they cannot afford or which is not covered by Medicare or private insurance.”
“We accept donations of used and new home health equipment. Our skilled staff and volunteers sanitize and revitalize the equipment at our warehouse – then, we make it available for free loans to anyone. If it is not good enough for your grandmother to use, we don’t loan it.”

But that’s not all. Last year St. Louis HELP prevented about 150 tons of material from being dumped in landfills – including home health devices that were loaned, items sent to needy organizations in other countries, and broken parts recycled by the organization.
As a small, independent nonprofit group, St. Louis HELP relies on financial donations and grants from caring individuals, and from businesses and community organizations, to support its benevolent mission.
Every dollar donated to St. Louis HELP turns into $10.67 of benefit for people of all ages in greater St. Louis who rely on free loans of home medical equipment.
"Our free lending warehouse is open Wednesday and Saturday from 9 am to 2:30 pm in the St. Louis suburb of Olivette,” says Cannon-Singer. Loans of home health equipment are free to anyone, including caregivers.
