Starkloff Disability Institute Presenting Two-Day Workshop from National Technical Institute for the Deaf

"Working Together: Deaf and Hearing People" is set for April 23-24.

Instructors from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) in Rochester, New York, will be in St. Louis to conduct their award-winning plenary session and workshop, “Working Together: Deaf and Hearing People” on April 23-24.

This Starkloff Disability Institute training event is co-sponsored by Centene Corporation, and will occur at Centene headquarters at 7700 Forsyth Avenue in Clayton.

The plenary session including Q & A will be April 23 from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. The workshop will be April 24 from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. Registration for the plenary and the workshop are limited to 100 and 30 participants, respectively.

If you have employed deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals in your organization or if that’s an area you want to explore, “Working Together: Deaf and Hearing People” is an excellent resource.

These award-winning workshops are conducted by employment professionals from the NTID Center on Employment to help create a workplace environment for both deaf and hearing workers that encourages communication and helps all employees realize their full potential.

Workshop presenters will create a fun, comfortable and engaging atmosphere when covering these topics:

· Understanding Hearing Loss

· Communication on the Job

· Strategies to Help You Integrate Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Employees into the Workplace

· Accommodations for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Employees

This two-day program is designed for senior level executives, company leaders, human resource professionals and federal contractors looking to meet OFCCP requirements. The plenary session cost is $60; the workshop is $150.

The workshop is approved for 2.25 (HR [General]) recertification credit hours toward CA, GPHR, HRBP, HRMP, PHR and SPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
