Trucking Company Buys Larger Downtown Property
Hilliker Corporation represents both buyer and seller
Hilliker Corporation, a St. Louis owned and managed commercial real estate company, recently helped a local trucking company purchase a facility with more land and shop space while remaining downtown.
Baron’s Express, a licensed freight shipping and trucking company founded in 1988, purchased a 53-year-old building originally built by Nooter Corporation for $600,000. Located at 1120 S. Second St., the 4,800-square-foot property sits on a 3.8 acre lot. Baron’s Express operated out of its previous location at 900 S. 13th St. since 1991.
“The larger shop and great highway access will be a huge benefit for us,” said company president Bob Mahacek. “We’re a small, family-owned local trucking company that hauls containers in and out of the St. Louis area rail yards, so this is a perfect location since we wanted to remain downtown.”
