Update: Stakeholders Speak Out In Search For MRH's Next Superintendent

The MRH Board of Education received a thorough briefing at its Oct. 15 meeting on the community's wishes for the District's next superintendent. Nearly 700 community members, school employees, students and other stakeholders contributed valuable feedback recently as the search continues for the next superintendent of the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District. Focus group findings and survey results were compiled into a Leadership Profile Report submitted to the Board of Education by the executive search firm HYA & Associates.

Current superintendent Dr. Karen I. Hall announced in June that she will retire from the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District following the 2020-2021 school year. At the time of her departure, she will have served in public education for nearly 30 years, 13 of those at MRH. Dr. Hall plans to explore opportunities for consulting, teaching, and running her late father’s business.

The MRH superintendent vacancy is posted on the HYA website. The deadline for candidates to submit applications is November 1, 2020. Next up is the recruiting phase and a thorough review of all applications received.
