92.3 WIL Announces The 2012 Edition of "Cornbread Idol"

The 2012 edition of “Cornbread Idol” will take place at Wild Country - located at 17 Gateway Drive in Collinsville, Illinois - between 1:00 and 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2012:

• Auditions are by appointment only and limited to the first 75 contestants who register online at the 92.3 WIL website - www.wil92.com.
• Family, friends and the general public are invited to watch the “Cornbread Idol” auditions at Wild Country on March 31^st.
• The “Cornbread Idol” winner will be chosen by rounds of online voting at WIL92.com.
• “Cornbread Idol” contestants must be 18 year of age to participate. Complete contest rules for the 2012 “Cornbread Idol” competition are available at WIL92.com.

 In order to compete, “Cornbread Idol” contestants MUST be available on-site at Wild Country during the entire 1:00 to 4:00 pm audition timeframe. Each contestant will have 90 seconds to perform a song of their choice – a cappella (without instrument/music). Staff members from 92.3 WIL will take video clips of each performance during this 3 hour window, which will then be posted online at WIL92.com for voting.  

Beginning Tuesday morning, April 3, 2012, WIL listeners will be able to visit WIL92.com daily to vote for their favorite “Cornbread Idol” video submission. The contestant videos that rank among the Top 20 in votes received will advance to the next stage of the competition.  Then, starting Monday, April 9, listeners will be asked to vote for their favorite of the Top 20. During the week of April 16th, listeners will choose among the Top 5 remaining contestant videos to select the winner of “Cornbread Idol”, which will be announced LIVE on the April 23^rd on “The Cornbread Morning Show”.

The winner of the 2012 “Cornbread Idol” competition will receive the opportunity to perform at Wild Country during a taping of St. Louis Country, along with a chance to perform at additional WIL event this year. The winner will also receive a pair of Bandana’s Barbeque Country Mega tickets for all the shows at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in 2012.
