Brown Smith Wallace Partner Named Volunteer of the Year for YMCA of Greater St. Louis Branch

Brown Smith Wallace Tax Services partner, Roy Kramer, has been honored by the YMCA of Greater St. Louis as the 2012 Volunteer of the Year for the West County Family Branch. He was recognized for his dedication, effort and commitment to the mission and values of the YMCA.

Kramer’s volunteer efforts have included swim meets, trivia nights, phone-a-thons, triathlons and more. In commenting on the award, Denise Glass, district executive director for the YMCA of Greater St. Louis, noted that Roy “gives his time unconditionally and always does it with humor and a smile.”

“We are proud of Roy and his accomplishments,” said Harvey Wallace, managing partner at Brown Smith Wallace. “He is a shining example of balancing a successful professional career and following his passion of serving the St. Louis community through volunteerism. Roy’s outstanding dedication is a testament to the culture of work-life balance promoted at the firm.”

Kramer has more than 30 years experience in tax planning, business consulting, personal financial planning and divorce taxation. Kramer was the first CPA in the state of Missouri to have achieved both the CPA designation and the CDFA and CDS designations. An active civil servant, his community involvement includes not only the YMCA of Greater St. Louis, but also Cinema St. Louis where he serves as treasurer of the executive committee.
