Rossman School Distinguished Alumni Awards Honor Outstanding Men and Women

An award-winning author, a Rhodes Scholar, a renowned medical professional and an accomplished 21-year-old philanthropist were among the honorees at Rossman School’s Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony last Thursday. More than 130 people attended the event, which was part of the school’s 95th anniversary celebration.

The Rossman School Distinguished Alumni Awards recognize men and women, living or deceased, who, by outstanding achievement, exemplify the values taught by Rossman School throughout its 95 years — leadership, citizenship, creativity, humanity and love of learning. This award is presented every five years, and is the highest honor bestowed to the school's alumni. This year’s recipients were J. Curtis Engler (’60), Robin Ewing Engler (’60), Richard Horner (26), Landon Jones Jr. (’55), Jay Marshall II (’58), Derek Rapp (’74), and Helen Rapp (’04).

Presenters at the event included Head of School Pat Shipley, Social Studies Teacher Mary Jane Carissimi, current parent Amy Goldberg, and alumni Hal Ball (’74), Joe Gazzoli (’64) and Cliff Saxton (’58).
