St. Louis residents are invited to take part in the region’s first-ever Places for Pets Week, a celebration of the special bond between pets and the people who love them, sponsored by the Saint Louis PetLover Coalition. Places for Pets Week will honor several new pet adoption and service locations recently opened in St. Louis, including Stray Rescue, Animal House, St. Louis County Animal Care and Control and the Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic.
Special services will be made available to assist St. Louis residents and their pets, and the week will culminate on Saturday, June 16, when rescue groups and provider destinations rally to host the largest dispersed animal adoption event in 2012. More than 100 adoptable dogs and cats will look for their forever homes at 20 easily accessible destinations throughout the city and county.
The Places for Pets Map, commissioned by the Saint Louis PetLover Coalition and illustrated by a local artist, will be available at area Schnucks and more than 20 pet places. Free to all residents, the map showcases regional pet friendly locations, rescues and hidden treasures, including Laumeier Sculpture Park, CityGarden and Cheshire Inn.
