American Idol Blogger: And Then There Were 9!

This year must have produced the BEST contestants ever….or so one would think by the judge’s feedback! (Really, 5 standing o’s)  Man, I can’t wait until tomorrow to hear from Jimmy!

Wednesday the Idols sang their Idols…
Colton was good; they are calling him the dark horse. I think his performance was solid. It wasn’t the best of the night, but was good enough to stay out of the bottom three. Skylar can kick some butt, she’s a true country singer and I have a soft spot for country! I think she’s got attitude and a powerful voice. I think she chose a safe song tonight but she nailed it. Heejun is working to change his image, we’ll have to see. I think he will be in the bottom three this week. Hollie was solid, I think she is inconsistent but she’s safe. I think DeAndre will once again be in the bottom three. Jessica’s an ace, she’s in it till the end but honestly I’m a bit bored with her performances. Phillip must still be spinning after hearing what Stevie Nicks said to him! I know I would be. I loved his version of the song and to quote Randy Jackson, “he can sing the phone book!” He’s SAFE. I was impressed by Joshua, it was a really tough song and he did great, but I think he may be in the bottom three. Elise ended the show with a little Zeppelin, she may have been my favorite perfromance of the night. I kind of put her in the same boat as Erika Van Pelt, she has a great voice, but for some reason hasn't won over America.

At the beginning of this season, I really thought we would be crowing a girl the next American Idol. Phillip has completely changed my mind. Though I don’t think it will be a landslide, I think he is giving everyone a run for their money.

I think the bottom 3 will be; DeAndre, Heejun and Elise...but remember the judges still have their "Save"
