Express Scripts is a Pharmacy Benefit Manager – PBM for short.
They play a big role in today’s health care system because they try to reduce the cost of harmaceutical products. If you’re going to have a prescription that’s going to last a long time, it’s cheaper to buy via mail order through a company like Express Scripts to reduce that cost over time.
