Jana Mankunas and Mandy Paluczak take NYC- Fashion week

Hurrying to get them finished,we were able to watch the run through on the runway with all the lights and the music. It was very exciting to actually see your hard work going down the runway.

This is a continuation of our last post. We were very fortunate to get an opportunity to work back stage at fashion week NYC. We both are employed at Xavier Menard's Salon Prive' in Creve Coeur on Olive. We attended the Prive' Academy (not affiliated with us) for classes on advanced cutting techniques and styling.Β  So our adventure begins Saturday morning. We arrived at Lincoln Center around 8:45. We were in one of the main tents that were in back of Lincoln center. Our tent was The Studio. The designer we were doing hair for was Son Jung Wan. She is the top designer in Asia. She has outsold Vera Wang.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β

We had twenty women models and two men. Our job was to do braiding. The type of braids we did are called rope braids. They are very cool looking so we can't wait for all the special occasion styles to come into the salon so we can do them on our clients. Now ,when your backstage , you are in your own room. It's a big room shared with the makeup artists doing the same models and nail techs. It is very exciting! Cameras everywhere!Β

Sunday and Monday were the classes form 9:00am to 6:00pm. We have learned so many new techniques to bring back to the salon and share with our co-workers. These new techniques and styles will bring a touch of NYC to St. Louis. So if your looking for more current and trendy styles, book your appointments now with Jana and Mandy.Β

We would also like to say that the Artists and Prive' team from the Academy were so inspiring to us. We appreciate their creativity and dedication and passion for this industry. We were so fortunate to be a part of it. This has made us take our passion and creativity to the next level!
