Lady Justice Takes a C.R.A.P.

Before you stop in your tracks at the title of this book,
let me assure you that it’s not what it seems: C.R.A.P stands for “City Retiree
Action Patrol.” And that’s just the tip of the iceberg – author Robert
Thornhill starts off his Lady Justice series of six novels (plus a cookbook!)
with a bang. And he mixes far fewer metaphors than I….

Walt, our hero, has always dreamed of being a police officer
and in this new action-series he does just that, albeit a bit unconventionally.
You see, Walt is retired and, well, at his age it can be hard to catch a break.
However, he manages at least as well as our typical caped crusaders and he has
a host of help: an elderly professor who spouts Confucius-like sentiments, a
realtor girlfriend, a tough broad who runs his boarding house, and a gentleman
who’s retired from the streets and a, um, rather colorful past.

Well-written, hysterically funny, and set in the western
part of Missouri, Lady Justice will certainly make you laugh out loud. Not only
will the “retired” set enjoy this series, but most adults will be able to relate
to Walt and his friends during their many escapades.

I won’t mention too much about Mr. Thornhill’s other books
yet, but suffice it to say that he’s also well-versed in children’s books – his
Rainbow Road series is perfect for youngsters, and each book has a surprise at
the end! Mr. Thornhill will be appearing in St. Louis in December as his
alter-ego, Lucky Leprechaun.
