Mama-palooza raises thousands for local project to prepare kids for school

The standing-room-only crowd at NCJW's Mama-palooza on May 2 raised thousands of dollare for a local project to help prepare children for school.

"Scary Mommy" Jill Smokler and Melissa Gerstein of The MOMS spoke to a standing-room-only crowd at the Crescent in Clayton with the National Council of Jewish Women-St. Louis Section on May 2. The group raised thousands of dollars for NCJW's local project to help prepare children for school. The Back-To-School Store, brought to St. Louis more than a decade ago by NCJW, is a one-day annual event that outfits qualifying children with school supplies, clothing, and personal care items to make sure they have everything they need for the first day of school.
