The Power of High Expectations

We need to be "expectations aware" and ensure all students receive the same high expectations from each of us.

This week, my message to the Northeast staff was a reminder of the importance of holding all our students to high expectations and believing in all our students’ abilities to meet these.

I shared a TED series video of a young girl (Adora Svitak) whose message is, “What Adults Can Learn from Kids.”

At one point in her speech, she addresses the issue of low expectations for kids. She says, “When expectations are low, trust me, kids will sink to them.”
