Who Will Be Packing Their Bag? Our 'Idol' Blogger Weighs In

The magnificent 7 will become 6 or maybe even 5 after Thursday's “American Votes” are revealed. It’s getting tougher and tougher to write this blog since I think it could basically be anyone’s win at this point. The variable that no one can judge is the fan base that each contestant has built. Ryan keeps saying that Colton has the “girls” vote, but I’m sure a few of those are flying Phillip’s or Joshua’s way. Bottom line, they are all great singers. Probably one of the best group of singers on the American Idol stage.    

The highlights for me in round 1 were Phillip Phillips, I loved his version of the song and I guess the judges agreed as they gave away their first “standing o” of the night.  

Hollie seemed to have found her groove tonight; I really enjoyed her performances too.

The standouts in round 2 include Phillip & Joshua. Joshua actually got his second "standing o" of the night.  

So how would I rank the night?

Safe – Phillip, Skylar, Joshua and Jessica (I’ve read that never in the history of the “AI Save” has the person saved been sent home the following week. So with that in mind, I’m going to say she is safe this week.)

Bottom three – Elise, Hollie & Colton

We’ll probably be saying “good-bye” to Elise. Now, the twist, if we say “bye” to a second contestant, I’d have to say it would be Hollie.

The nights’ sleepers for me were Colton and Elise.
