Celebrate Creve Coeur's Success at Going Green This Week
Creve Coeur is celebrating its EPA "Green Power Community" designation Tuesday, June 25 at Millennium Park. The community is invited to attend!

"The city obtained GPC status by successfully meeting the EPAβs target goal of switching 3% of their energy use to clean power sources through the installation of solar electric systems and the enrollment in Amerenβs Renewable Energy Purchase program, Pure Power," the release stated.

The goal of the city's year-long effortΒ was to educate and encourage support of sources of renewable energy and to reduce the cityβs carbon footprint.
The community is invited to celebrate the designation fromΒ from 5 - 7 p.m.,Β Tuesday, June 25 at the Millenium Park βTappmeyer Houseβ. Β

TheΒ EPA will present the city with the award andΒ street signs that will be places around the city acknowledging the newΒ status.Β
There will be food, fun for the entire family andΒ eco-friendly demonstrations, according to the announcement.
