Changing Lives, One Book at a Time
Local Preschools Collected Nearly 7,000 Books for Children in Need

The Goddard Schools located throughout St. Louis partnered with Ready Readers to collect nearly 7,000 new and gently used books for underprivileged children.
The book drive is part of the schools’ initiative to promote literacy and teach the children the importance of giving back to the community.
“Reading a book is like taking an adventure as children use their imagination to explore new places and situations as they listen and/or read these stories. At The Goddard School, we learn through playful learning and books are one of our many ways we play and learn,” explains Marla Brunk, on-site owner of The Goddard School located in Manchester.

Julie Bunton, on-site owner of The Goddard School located in Creve Coeur, reiterates that notion as well. “We love doing activities with the kids that also gets the parents involved. It was a huge success and we are happy to give back to the community.”
Ready Readers were equally thrilled to have partnered with the schools and to have them join the cause. Nora Steele from Ready Readers adds, “The best part of the day was The Goddard School bus that pulled up with a few children to help bring in the donations.”
