First Bank Brings Holiday Cheer for Local Families In Need

Bank staff adopts 45 local families; 130 overall during company-wide outreach

Forty-five St. Louis area families were adopted and many gifts and new items were delivered during First Bank’s Adopt-A-Family campaign on behalf families in need this holiday season. The initiative was part of a holiday outreach campaign that stretched from St. Louis to the Metro East, rural Missouri to Southern Illinois, and California.

“For the 2016 holiday season, our branches throughout Missouri, Illinois and California worked with several organizations to adopt families in need,” said Tim Lathe, President, Chief Executive Officer, First Bank. “I am thrilled to say that thanks to the efforts of our First Bank teams across the footprint, we were able to provide holiday gifts, food, clothing and monetary donations to over 130 families in the markets we serve.”

On December 9, employees from First Bank’s Hazelwood Operations Center (600 James S. McDonnell Blvd) delivered gifts and items to the St. Patrick Center, one of Missouri’s largest providers of housing, employment and health opportunities for people who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.

“As a longtime partner and friend of the St. Patrick Center, we know the important, often life changing work this great organization does for individuals and families,” said Monique Dattilo, Senior Vice President, Director of Operations, First Bank. “We just wanted to do our part to bring some holiday cheer to people who are facing or experiencing homelessness.”

Beginning in November, First Bank’s Hazelwood staff collected a variety of new items ranging from cookware to clothing. As well as items, First Bank employees in Hazelwood donated $500.

First Bank, United Way’s 100 Neediest

In addition, First Bank staff from St. Louis area branches along with teams from the Four Seasons, Clayton and Creve Coeur locations adopted seven of the United Way’s 100 Neediest Cases in St. Louis. Those gifts and new items were picked up Friday, December 16 at First Bank’s Creve Coeur office (11901 Olive Blvd).

First Bank employees also made financial contributions to help pay their rent and utility bills, ensuring the families have shelter and heat now that winter has arrived.

The 100 Neediest Cases is an annual charitable campaign jointly sponsored by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the local chapter of the United Way.
