Heat Impacts Thursday's Athletic Schedules

The Creve Coeur area is under a heat advisory until Saturday night.

The calendar may have turned to September, but temperatures still feel like summer. Because of Thursday's heat and heat indices, which have the potential to push the 105 degree mark, the National Weather Service states, area schools are making changes to their athletic schedules.

In the , it is being left as a school-by-school decision, but Athletic Director Kris Kellams told Patch that all outdoor athletic events this afternoon were being postponed, and that games in the Suburban Southwest Conference Softball tournament were being moved to 7 p.m.

Boys and girls cross country

JV Softball

Fr Football

Fr & JV Volleyball

The following teams WILL practice inside:

Tennis team should meet in Mrs. Presson's room at 2:45 p.m.

Golf team - meet in Ms. Anderson’s room

Freshman & Varsity Softball – multipurpose room

All Soccer teams – meet in low ceiling room

JV and Varsity Football – main gym

Varsity Volleyball – upper gym

Swim meet is on as scheduled.

JV football will not practice Thursday, while a freshman soccer team game scheduled in Illinois is still on as planned. Varsity soccer will conduct a lighter practice.
