Hundreds Attend Retirement Celebration for Former Mayor Dielmann

More than 400 people visited the reception June 9 as co-workers, family and friends of former Mayor Harold Dielmann.

Walking into Chaminade's Skip Viragh Center for the Fine Arts the evening of June 9, it was not hard to realize people were happy to be there celebrating the 28 years of former Creve Coeur Mayor Harold Dielmann's public service.

More than 400 of perhaps the Dielmann family's "closest friends" came in support to honor Dielmann's retirement. Dielmann, 82, was often seen side-by-side with his wife, Pat, shaking hands and holding conversations with each attendee.

Representatives from Creve Coeur government, state officials and members of other local governments paid tribute to Dielmann in a presentation of proclamations, personal notes and other prestigious gifts.
