Creve Coeur Green Power Community Challenge

When: June 25, 2013
Where: Tappmeyer House in Millennium Park

Creve Coeur has become the second Green Power Community in Missouri and will celebrate the accomplishment from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Historic Tappmeyer House in Millenium Park. The EPA will present the city with an award during the event for becoming the second Green Power Community in Missouri.

Foodology for Schools: Let’s Grow!

Where: Missouri Botanical Garden

A 2-day summit where everyone will be able to share their successes and struggles, take in a film screening together, visit community and school gardens, and think big about our students’ food future. Educators, district leaders, school food service professionals, school gardeners/groundskeepers, parents, and students will learn from each other about ways to get healthier, fresher, more locally grown fruits and vegetables into school gardens, cafeterias, classrooms, and family kitchens.

PhenoDays: Imaging and Robotics for the 21st Century

When: September 25-27, 2013
Where: Donald Danforth Plant Science Center

The last decade has seen an explosion of digital profiling techniques on the molecular scale. The next decade will see a similar explosion in digital profiling of phenotypic outputs driven by advances in imaging and robotics. Recent advances have allowed phenotypes to be measured quantitatively and in high throughput, enabling model based analysis and the derivation of real biological knowledge.  The Danforth Center’s 15th Annual Fall Symposium will highlight cutting-edge science that has led to real biological understanding in a wide range of organisms.
