POLKA PARTY FAIR...

Invitation to Germanic Genealogy Special Interest Group annual Fair

POLKA PARTY FAIR…

Dance with Your Ancestors!

How about a couple hours of lively fun, discovery, and friendship!
It’s in store for you at GGSIG’s annual Fair on Sunday afternoon, November 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lutheran Hour Ministries building (660 Mason Ridge Center Drive, 63141, just off the north service road along I-64/40 immediately east of the Mason Road exit). There is NO CHARGE to participate. PLENTY of free and safe parking, good snacks, and some truly exciting activities await you.

Dr. Gerald Perschbacher will moderate a fast-paced and power-packed session as experienced researchers talk about Elusive Ancestors, The Journey and Excitement of Family Stories, Reasons to leave Germany and Come to America, A St. Louis Study in Ancestry, The Thrill of Discovery, andβ€œFind Me”—How Ancestors are Calling.

Successful researchers will explain (1) what they like to look for, (2) what they found, and (3) how you probably can, too.

After about an hour of listening, you can spend a good amount of time afterwards as you mingle with those researchers for one-on-one insights and problem solving. We’ve even invited German language experts to be on hand!

As an added benefit, there will be several laptop computers on hand for those who want to be coached for online opportunities during the event, and you are welcome to bring you own laptop, if you prefer. Displays and music of old Germany also will enhance your time at the Polka Party Fair as you figuratively β€œDance with Your Ancestors”!

So avoid the doldrums of a boring, sit-and-listen day…and get ready to β€œDance.”
