Republican From Wentzville Will Challenge Secretary of State Robin Carnahan

Sen. Rupp snnounced his candidacy Monday on a radio program.

State Sen. Scott Rupp, R-, announced Monday that he was in the running for Missouri Secretary of State in 2012. The seat is currently held by Democrat Robin Carnahan.

Rupp made the announcement at 5 p.m. on a local radio program and via hisΒ Facebook page.

Rupp is prohibited by term limits from running for another term in the state senate. He was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2003 and the Senate in 2006.

According to hisΒ campaign website, Rupp moved to Missouri at age 10 and graduated fromΒ Β and theΒ University of Missouri.
