Save Our Local Water

For years the United States has been fighting to secure the oil it needs to preserve its high standard of living. Experts agree that future wars will be fought over water, not to maintain a high standard of living, but because water is a human necessity. Missouri’s Current River was named one of America’s most endangered rivers in 2011. In the next two weeks, the National Park Service will vote on a new management plan for the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. The four possible plans range from taking no action to fully restoring the land and the water and putting more protections in place. I urge the National Park Service to protect and clean up our country’s water, so we do not waste trillions of dollars and the lives of our countrymen in future wars over foreign water.
