Senior Lifestyle Corp. Opens Welcome Center at The Sheridan at Creve Coeur Senior Living Community

$17 Million, 53-Unit Development to Open in Early 2017

Senior Lifestyle Corporation (SLC) announces that it has opened a Welcome Center at 453 N. Lindbergh Blvd. for The Sheridan in Creve Coeur, the second of several senior living communities it plans to create in metro St. Louis and the only one that will focus solely on residents afflicted with dementia, including Alzheimer’s.

“Creve Coeur is a purpose-built memory care community that will present a unique set of signature programs developed specifically to address the symptoms of dementia and to support those we provide care for,” said Hollie Kemp, SLC national director of programming. “Every detail of the built environment at Creve Coeur – from the lighting to the artwork and the use of technology – has been selected to create a welcoming, home-like community that promotes an active and independent life style.”

The closely-held national owner, operator and developer of senior housing communities based in Chicago, Ill., is targeting a grand opening in early 2017 for the $17 million facility and its 53 living units.

Now emerging from a two-acre site at 450 N. Lindbergh Blvd., the building will host 42,000 square feet of finished space, including nearly 14,000 square feet of common area including family-style great rooms, gourmet kitchen areas, dining rooms, sun porch and fitness space. Also, designated interior areas and outdoor gardens will be dedicated to support SLC’s signature “Embrace” programs involving cooking, aromatherapy, literature appreciation, gardening and other activities.

“The Sheridan in Creve Coeur will embody a lifestyle, with a focus on connection. Residents will participate in purposeful programs that provide opportunity for meaningful moments each and every day,” added Kemp.

The project is currently supporting 125 to 150 construction jobs and is forecast to create 75 full-time equivalent jobs (both full- and part-time permanent positions) when it opens. Brinkmann Constructors is the general contractor with Wiegmann Associates serving as mechanical contractor.

Senior Lifestyle has two other Sheridan properties underway in metro St. Louis. Also slated to open in early 2017 is The Sheridan at Laumeier Park at 12470 Rott Road in Sunset Hills, Mo., while a summer 2017 opening is planned for The Sheridan at Chesterfield at 16300 Justus Post Rd. in Chesterfield, Mo.
