The Meanest Generation: Teaching Civility, Empathy, Kindness and Compassion to Our Angriest Children

We are raising the meanest generation in history. It’s time to do something about this epidemic of incivility. The training goal of Malcolm Smith’s, PhD. presentation is to identify and define the more than 30 fundamental and generational changes in our current generation that indicate an epidemic of uncivility. Seminar participants will learn how Dr. Smith’s 30 years of research and classroom practice—on the streets and in youth programs across the nation—explain this trend and identify its roots. Dr. Smith will identify clear, specific and dynamic strategies that will help mental health
professionals, educators and parents care for, interact with and heal angry
children and youth.
