Did you know that being creative could increase your energy and make you more productive? It's true. As busy as you are, you've got to take time out to recharge or you will be running on empty and soon be headed toward burnout which decreases productivity. Of course we all recharge in different ways but if being creative is one of the ways you get renewed, this article is for you! Here are our blueprints to creating an organized craft area. 1. An organized craft area has clearly defined zones. It is time for a reality check ladies. Although you wish you could do crafts all day long, in the real world your discretionary time is few and far between. It’s time to narrow down your true passions and pick a couple of crafts you cannot live without. Once you have determined your favorites, it will help you decide what to store and which zone it will belong in. A typical space has enough room to house 2-3 zones adequately. 2. An organized craft area makes use of vertical storage space. When you do get the opportunity to be creative, you want everything at your fingertips. Using the walls for storage not only does that but also provides additional storage space. One of my solid favorites in any craft room is a pegboard. Pegboards accommodate a variety of tools that are visible and easy to grab. Other options are hooks, shelves, small buckets, baskets, nooks, cubbies and magnetic containers. The options are endless. 3. An organized craft space makes it easy to be creative. Ain’t nobody got time for looking for stuff, moving stacks or opening multiple containers. Use open bins when possible and label things so you remember where to put it when you are finished. Spend time doing what you love, not trying to find or get to what you need.
