A Step Closer to Roberta Lane

A nice tribute to my late wife. Thank you, Dale Hicks and Associates.

Dale Hicks and Associates made that step this week.

They did this by working in inclement weather to get the conduits for utilities under West North Street and getting ready to place an expensive 8-inch water line and valve near the coming Roberta Lane, as we are told that Forby Road and a part of West North Street in the area hopefully will be paved, maybe next week.

This improvement has been a long time coming and seems to be shaping up nicely. With the 10,000 yards or more of fill from Forby Road in place, the steep land going to the border of the land, will now be almost level and should be a choice location for future home sites, all with underground utilities out of the range of inclement weather.

As a side note, our local deer herd may have to find new routes to get around the attractive wall on the hillside of Forby Road so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Roberta Lane was named to remember my late wife, Roberta Weber. The nice soil in the area will make those who live there able to carry out her love for growing things, such as plants and flowers, a fitting tribute.

Pictures were taken of the mass of parts, and then the assembled unit, as Dale and his men put it together in the hope that just a few minutes at 8 a.m. Monday morning it will be in place before the highway builders install the gutters and paving. We hope the dust and mud and other inconveniences will soon be over.

The valve also was installed to provide water for the future homes on Roberta Lane.
