Forby Road and North Street Improvements

Work on this Eureka street project is ALMOST DONE!

The end is near. After more than a year of intense physical activity in planning, then grading, then extensive finish work, I think I can safely say this first statement, as I watched the placement of the temporary center line marking being put in place yesterday.

As the road construction machinery was moved out, almost immediately the Weber Hill activity took its place beginning with the removal of the rocky base of the "to be" Roberta Lane to serve the back portions of the new development.  Roberta Lane will be a 26 feet wide street going north, from North Street far enough to turn west, where it will serve two more lots of more than an acre each.

As the rocky base of the old lane was moved, it was kept separate from the topsoil of the old home at 125 West North, and will be blended into the final deposition to the best use in the fill when complete.

The next activity will be to complete the underground installation of the electric service, cable and telephone lines so that the unattractive electric pole can be removed. We recently received a letter from the city that there will be no parking on the new sod area along the North Side of North Street.

Watch for the new growth and opportunity to be a part of this final six-home stage of the unique phase of Eureka history, having new access and up-to-code facilities available soon.

My driveway at 119 West North Street will have a connector to Roberta Lane so we will be able to turn around and drive forward to enter North Street rather than backing out as now being done.
