Healthy Kids Day Helps Families Take On Summer

Hard to believe the last day of school is only a month away! Get ideas for keeping kids active throughout summer at free Healthy Kids Day at the Wildwood Y on Saturday, April 28.

Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow, but sometimes when the school year ends, so does a child's exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind. This Saturday, April 28, the is celebrating Healthy Kids Day, a FREE community event that will help families find fun through active play and educational activities to "Take On Summer."

At the Y's event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., families will enjoy healthy snacks, a bounce house, face painting, and engaging activities that promote healthy lifestyles.

Special guests will include the Cat in the Hat, Camp Lakewood, Literacy, the Library and the Fire Department with a fire truck. Wear your walking shoes for an outdoor family fun walk, weather permitting.

Bring your swimsuits if you’d like to enjoy recreational swim from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. only. The water slide will be open to those at least 48 inches tall. Kids will be given a “passport” to track enough activities to receive a frisbee.
 
And, on this day only, families can get 10 percent off a week of our Summer Day Camp. Camp special details may be found at . The Y is also offering 100 percent off the joining fee through the weekend.
