Lessons From a Vineyard

How do we execute still being "fruitful" in today's world?

As I listened to the gospel at on the weekend of Oct. 2, I did so as a lifelong tenant farmer. It was stressed in the pastor's column that the readings for the week were known as "kingdom parables" because they were Jesus' way of teaching us the kingdom is not a "place," but rather is a society, a community of people who desire and strive for the things of God.

The focus of the parable is on those entrusted with the care of the vineyard. Jesus addresses the leaders of his people in a critical fashion for not taking good care of those who are entrusted to them by the Father. They also rejected Jesus, who God has sent to call them to conversion and a change of heart. As a Christian community, we are called to be "fruitful" and "productive" in bringing forth a kingdom of justice, love, and peace.

Fittingly, we are challenged to ask ourselves:  What is it that God expects of us to make his kingdom — his presence among us — more fruitful for all human beings?

So, after a lifetime of being fruitful and productive in goods and services for mankind (as a farmer), I suddenly became stricken with a deadly disease and prepared to meet my Maker, by Christmas. This occurred just about one year ago this week.

Now a year has passed, and I have added much to my experience of life and have announced to the that I am ready to file for the U.S. Congress in the Second District of Missouri, because I have been given a new tenancy of life.

I have listened closely to all who are in the role of government and watched our nation so manipulated and managed into a slide that will become much more pronounced as it moves worldwide in scope — with no solution in sight, only more disappointment.

I have prepared more than 100 blogs in the Eureka-Wildwood Patch and modified my site for a means to deliver the message:  www.georgedweber.webs.com
