Message From Crystal Cathedral

Learn to turn stress into strength; here's a great equation and approach.

As my daughter and I sorted through a lifetime of memories, we came up with a letter from Robert Schuller, who I worked with me in National Volunteers in Corrections for a while. It is dated October 1, 1998.

Dear George,

Thank you for your prayerful support.  The "Hour of Power" broadcast continues because of caring people like you.

You may remember my recent message, "God's answer to Negative Stress.  The trick to dealing with stress is to learn to turn stress into strength:

S - Sing:  Pick up a song, whistle, put music into your life.

T - Think Positively:  Call stress by the right name...negative thinking.

R - Rest:  Live God's way...change your emotions on Sunday, go to church.

E - Exercise:  Follow a fitness program—exercise and eat right.

S - Seek good around you:  The world is hungry for good people, people who are kind and helpful.

S - Survive:  You'll be a survivor when you turn a negative thing called stress into a positive thing.

Be assured, as we gather for a time of praise and prayer, we will pray for you and your loved ones.

God loves you, and so do I!

--Robert H. Schuller

I visited the Crystal Cathedral several times during trips to California, and valued my visits with Rev. Schuller once in a while when our paths crossed. This letter became a keeper, and I am happy to share his thoughts with you.
