Sad But True

Someone read things about my filing for Congress in the 2012 Missouri Second District as a Democrat. She sent me a prayer request that evidently is going around the country in patriotic circles. She more or less suggested that I include this thought and prayer in my presentations.

This might be a good suggestion, because  I do not plan to have fundraising actions in my behalf. That way, it will be my practice to use my own experience and work as my guide.

So here is her simple but sincere suggestion.

"I have a prayer request. There's a lady I've known forever. She's very sick. On top of that, she's being abused by those to whom she has given everything. Lies about her abound, and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart. Seems there's nothing I can do alone. But maybe, if we join in and lift her up to God, together we can heal her. She's well over 200 years old, but way too young to die.

Her name is America ... and I love her."
