Well, It Happened Again. Do I Have A Calling?

Events bring about actions. Oprah is just a kid, but as she says, "Life is up to you."

Thursday was my regular medical visit, and my adviser stated that in my case, consideration was given to my possibly being removed from my home hospice treatment because of my progress.

Then I was approved for membership by the Biltmorewhoswho.com group, a nationwide network of citizens who met qualifications set by the organization. I will join with the thousands of members, such as John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Tiger Woods and a host of business leaders in the venture.

Then I had to assist one of my children, because of his recent layoff from work until his new work will begin.

Recent blogs indicated that life is made successful by events and then action. After an early bedtime last night was interrupted, by my getting chilled after kicking the covers off at 3 a.m. during the cooling night, I turned on the TV and saw the final Oprah Winfrey show, which was a story of her life and a thanks for the energy her fans had given her over the past 25 years.

She is just a kid compared to my age.

But going back to my Patch writing being part of my therapy and hopefully being successful, gave me the topic, as time after time by being at the right place at the right time, and acting on events—as Oprah spoke for an hour—brings up the question:  Do I have a calling?

So, at 4 a.m., the news that the leader of the genocide in the Balkans had been captured after being sought for 16 years, showed former Gen. Wesley Clark, our former commander there, and later who I was involved with in politics, appearing on the tube.

So, if I had not been chilled by kicking off the covers, things would not have happened again.  If you saw Oprah's final show, you will understand the reason for this writing.

I received a message when I turned on the computer, that another WWII veteran and fellow member of my VFW Post had died of pneumonia, so I plan to attend the Memorial Day affair in Fenton on Monday in his memory.

Good sailing, Russell Poe, who served in the Southwest Pacific in the early battles there.

And thanks to you readers who give me the energy to bring my thoughts to you. As Oprah says, "Life is up to you," in her moving, final show. I wonder what Biltmorewhoswho will bring. From Patch to Biltmore is quite a jump.
