Eureka Arts Council Receives City Donation

Financial support from the city of Eureka represents a 20-year partnership with the council to benefit local visual and performing artists.

Eureka board of aldermen agreed to donate $5,000 to the Eureka Arts Council at Tuesday's meeting, per a request from Karen Crimi, who represented the council.

Eureka Arts Council services individuals and groups in Eureka and the surrounding area, particularly through classes in June and July, Crimi said.

Alderwoman Marilyn Leistner (Ward 2) said it was nice to have someone physically come to council meetings each spring to personally ask for the financial support. "We appreciate what the arts council does, and enjoy supporting your program," she said.
