FIRST Robotics - FTC Qualifier and FLL MO State Championship

It's a great weekend to be a robot fan!  St. Louis Community College - Florissant Valley will host two great FIRST events this weekend.  All events are FREE and open to the public.  Just look for the FIRST signs on campus.

 

Saturday 12/3 is the first qualifier event for FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) in Missouri

•     34 high school teams from all over Missouri (KC to Hannibal to St. Louis to Cape Girardeau) will attend

•     Their robots must fit in a 30" cube and run on a 12' sq. mat on the ground

•     The game this year is Bowled Over! and they will be moving racquetballs and bowling balls with their robots

•     The event runs 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

•     The best time to come watch robots in action is noon - 4:00 p.m.

 

Sunday 12/4 is the Eastern Missouri Championship for FIRST LEGO League (FLL)

•     40 teams have advanced from 7 qualifier events

•     Team members are ages 9-14

•     They run LEGO Mindstorms robots on a 4' x 8' table

•     They all have researched food safety and have an innovative solution to share

•     The event runs 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

•     The best time to come watch robots in action is 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Teams from Wildwood will be participating in both events.
