Fastenal Celebrates Opening in Eureka

A ribbon cutting was held Thursday for a new branch of the nation's largest supplier of nuts, bolts and screws.

Fastenal, a distributor of full-line industrial supplies, adds its services to the surrounding area of Eureka, Wildwood, and Pacific, MO. The Eureka-based store officially opened Jan. 15; a ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday by the Eureka Chamber of Commerce.

Dirk Goskie, Fastenal sales representative, said the store carries 900,000-plus items, many specific to the Eureka location, to service a variety of customers, such as , U.S. Silica, Cenveo, AmeriGas and .

The new Fastenal store is located at 1745 West 5th St.

Selling in bulk, typically in quantities of 25, 300 or 1,000, is the norm for Fastenal staffs. The major categories of items they offer include safety wear, fasteners, fleet and automotive tools and equipment, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, chemicals and paints, janitorial, hydraulics and welding, abrasives, metalworking, tooling components and raw materials.

Individual customers may want to purchase items, such as safety goggles, visibility clothing, brooms, caulk, ropes, chains, tarps, grease guns, stretch film, hoses, clamps and squeegees.

"We inventory each day, because a delivery truck arrives every morning," said Goskie.

The store's general manager, Erik Green, said customer service is their biggest strength, especially through vendor-managed networks. He said he worked the Eureka/Wildwood/Pacific area for the past several years, based from Fastenal's Fenton office. "I really like the people in this area, and we are enjoying being physically located here, now," he said.

Green said he sees the Eureka-Wildwood business geography as a hugely growing area.
