Lafayette versus Eureka Softball Playoffs
PHOTO GALLERY: Both of our local Patch high school softball teams faced each other in the District 3 Semifinal game on Thursday.
Lafayette High School's girls varsity softball team arrived at Eureka's field really to play ball Thursday for the Class 4 District 3 Semifinal game, a game that determined which team got to next play for the District championship. The Lancers jumped out ahead 3-0 in the first inning.
They added another run in the second inning.
But Eureka answered with 3 runs in the third inning and 4 runs in the fourth inning.

When it was 6-4, the Eureka team started chanting "This is our house!" And that night, it was their win with the final score Eureka 8 - Lafayette 4.
That win pitted Eureka against seasonal rival Parkway South on Friday evening.
