Mardi Growl Winners Crowned Sunday

The second annual dog parade and festivities hosted by the city of Eureka and Eureka Chamber of Commerce organizers drew a large pack...and crowd of people, too.

Sunday's weather was chilly, but most of the four-legged furry contestants for the second annual Mardi Growl dog parade in Eureka did not seem to mind.

Parade judges were Rep. Tim Jones (R-Eureka), 89th District and Majority Floor Leader of the Missouri House of Representatives; Jeff Burton of the Tom and Jeff Radio Show; and Officer Jennifer Werges, of the Eureka Police Department and Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) officer.

Contest winners for the 2012 parade were (from left to right in the accompanying photo):  Look-Alike Winners were chickens—Allie and Henry Coppin of Eureka, with their dog, Maddie.
