THE WINTER BROTHERS MATERIALS COMPANY DID NOT GO AWAY!!

The Winter Brothers withdrew their proposal to the City or Eureka to mine sand and gravel in the river valley. They have though presented a petition to St Louis County for a conditional use permit for the same project. THE DATE OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION HEARING IS MONDAY JUNE 8, 7 PM, AT COUNTY COUNCIL CHAMBERS, ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 41 S CENTRAL AVE, CLAYTON MO. Call or go on line to confirm the meeting 1-2 days ahead of the meeting.

Remember our issues
-up to 20-25 trucks per hour through the interchange Hwys 109 and 44, 6 days per week
-school buses for 7 schools in the area use this interchange twice daily
-destruction of the beautiful Meramec River Valley
-decline in property values
-worries about safety of the area wells, and quality of the water in the Meramec River
-no evaluation is to be done to protect the archaeological history of the valley
-noise and dust pollution in the area 6 days per week
-the entrance and exit of the sand and gravel plant is the ONLY entrance to route 66 State Park

There is a lot at risk here for the next 50+ years! We are well prepared and we have much good and NEW information to present to the Planning Commission so it is not a done deal.
