Softball Conference Tournament Results
Only 1 run stood in the way of Eureka High's varsity softball players matching one of the best, year-to-year softball teams in St. Louis for the championship: Parkway South. Lafayette finished in seventh place of 16 teams.
The championship game of the 2011 Suburban South/West Conference Softball Tournament had a quick-paced, 1-2-3, 1-2-3 marching rhythm to it, often with three batters up and three batters down. Few hits were snatched from Eureka pitcher Maddie Krumrey and Parkway South pitcher Sheridon Sprague.
No runners passed the second base until about the third inning. But it was a 1-run difference that made the Parkway South team this year's champions of the 16-team tournament. The final score was Parkway South 1, 0.
The championship game, hosted at the Chesterfield Athletic Association, was played with great precision by athletes of both the teams.
