  • Less is more.
  • The color spectrum is almost limitless.
  • The look is casual, yet dressy.

Fuchsia, oranges and blues are in, so too are teals; the traditional black and white is always stately and correct.

This spring's fashion is frilly and fun. All kinds of chic dress-up blouses and camisoles will match perfectly with a pair of jeans. Jeans are going to colors like basic tans and grays.

For the most part, skirts will be short and skimpy. Jean shorts now feature personalized monograms. After a tough, snowy winter, the light, airy spring fashions are a welcome relief.

Coral, blue and white are the go-to colors for spring 2011. Gold jewelry also is trendy this season.

This spring, bright colors, such as green and yellow, also are popular.

Floral patterns are blooming everywhere this spring.

Mod and color-blocked dresses reminiscent of the 1960s also can be seen at area stores. Long, flowing dresses reflecting the 1970s are definitely in again, as evidenced with tye-dye lavenders and pink dresses.

Every woman would probably consider the 'little black dress' an essential wardrobe piece. While black isn't necessarily the shade of choice this season, several stores still offer variations on the dress.
