Time to Plan for Next Open Mic Night

Wildwood has a built-in, encouraging audience for people who like to share all types of fine arts — music, poetry, comedy, songs, visual arts, writing, dance, even the Bible.

What type of dramatic talents do you like to share with other creative types? Resolve to share them this year.

hosts a periodic Open Mic (Microphone) Night, and it's time to prepare for the one scheduled for Feb. 9.

College organizers hosted their last ; it drew about 40 performers, including faculty, community residents, and of course, students.

Debbie Ward, acting coordinator, campus and community relations at the college, said students have begun to do a line dance at the end of the night.

"It’s a great evening – lots of fun, and the participants always encourage one another, which is wonderful to see," said Ward.

The Open Mic events are held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the campus in the Student Lounge area. Presentations are limited to 7 minutes. Registration is preferred; call 636-422-2241 or email dward106@stlcc.edu.
