Why Angels Garden Is Going Out of Business
One Eureka fixture will be leaving the area permanently by this fall. After a dozen years of serving customers, business was no longer a walk in the garden, so to speak.
Barbara Meitz was praying for a different outcome after a financial drought for the past few years plagued her business: .
After doing business based in for the past 11 years, Meitz is closing the doors of the inspirationally minded gift store. She actually started in business a year prior to that, but now must host a going out of business sale.

- Garden statutes
- Patron Saint medals
- Angel figurines
"Business just died," she said. "With the economy the way it is, people told me they have to buy food and take care of their families, and I understand that."
Meitz said it was a hard decision to close, but one that had to happen. She anticipates being open until mid-September, unless items sell out quicker than that.

Hours of The Angels Garden are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The store's address is 619 W. Fifth St.
Meitz said the related Angels Garden website also will be shut down.
