Sir Oak, Polyester. Bree, Buddy Seeking New Homes

Dogs and cats available for adoption from the Open Door Animal Sanctuary.

Sir Oak was abandoned by his owners and found himself being chased by a wild animal. He did the only thing he could think of, climb the nearest tree. He managed to evade his attacker, but he found himself stuck. After spending 3 days in that tree, someone finally placed a call to Open Door. The Cattery Manager scaled the 20 ft. distance from ground to him and brought him down safely. Now he is looking for a home that needs a very sweet boy to cuddle.

Polyester is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She loves attention and being held. She even loves to love on other cats. This is probably due to the fact that she was a mommy. She had two very sweet kittens last year. Of course they found homes very quickly, but the mommy still waits. Polyester doesn't have a care in the world, nothing bothers her at all. This is a girl that can fit into any family situation and would adapt with changes well. Here at the shelter we are confident the family that takes Polyester home will never find a better cat.

Bree is a wonderful Chow mix who loves to play with other dogs. She is curious about cats, but hasn't chased them here. She is an older girl, born in '03 that was not spayed and then let go. Not only did she have to fend for herself, she had to fend for the pups she eventually had. She is a very sweet girl that loves to go for walks and would make someone an excellent hiking partner. Weighing in at 50 lbs, it's a good thing Bree is not a clingy, lap dog.

Buddy is a wonderful mixed breed guy that was abandoned by his owners and was picked up running down the middle of the highway. After we got him here, we couldn't imagine why anyone would want to give him up. He is very sweet and loves to be around people. He hasn't had any extensive training, but he does know some basic commands like "sit" and "shake" and he walks well on a leash. At 4 years of age and 75 lbs, he's a big guy who is full of energy. Buddy just wants a comfortable home that will love him forever.
