Believe it or not it’s been 20 years since Ameristar Casino Spa Resort St. Charles first opened its doors along the banks of the Missouri River.
To celebrate you can bet there’s going to be cake. But before the cake is cut Ameristar has taken to the streets partnering with the Special Olympics Missouri for its 10th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, commemorating the journey of the Special Olympics Torch from St. Charles to Columbia, home of the Special Olympics State Summer Games.
Partnering with non-profits as Special Olympics illustrates the company’s dedication to the community. In fact, over the past 20 years Ameristar St. Charles has contributed more than $4.3 million to hundreds of local charities along with its team members donating thousands of service hours.

As St Charles Mayor Sally A. Faith extended her congratulations she said, “Ameristar has been a terrific corporate citizen for the past 20 years, providing not only outstanding career opportunities, but also generating significant tax income, promoting tourism, and being an economic mainstay,"
To celebrate the Special Olympics and the 20th anniversary Ameristar’s pastry chefs have created a cake befitting both occasions. Those gathered for today’s run and anniversary celebration will have the opportunity to line up for a slice. But don’t worry if you miss the cake. You can always find more cake inside - it's a mainstay on the buffet.
